Events and Breed Conformation Shows!We have listened to the thoughts, ideas and
comments of over a thousand individual breeders, trainers, veterinarians and
individual dog owners, and we now want YOU to become a member of our team of
wonderful dog enthusiast by doing your dog a favor and getting active with CKC
events!
If you are interested in developing a Continental Kennel Club Affiliated Club
and starting events in your area, Continental Kennel Club is the club for
you.Check out the advantages. No other registry or kennel club is this helpful
in getting you set up and on the ball.
What is a CKC Affiliate Club?
A CKC Affiliate Club is an organization or group that promotes Continental
Kennel Club by offering the chance to participate in our Performance Events and
Breed Conformation Shows. CKC Affiliate Clubs are non-discriminatory, meaning
that they are open to all dogs (pure-bred or not, big, small, young or old) and
all dog enthusiast. Being part of an Affiliate Club can bring many rewards not
only for your dog, but for you the owner as well. The Affiliate Clubs offer
their members and canines an opportunity to be a part of something that not only
betters them and their dogs, but the community as well. Dogs from shelters,
rescues and even the family pet is offered something to look forward to in a CKC
Affiliate Club.
What are the advantages of having a CKC affiliated event club?
There are so many, we couldn’t even fit them all into one
brochure!Continental Kennel Club will provide you with our very best customer
service, and we will make ourselves available to answer any of your questions.As
a CKC affiliated club, you will receive the following services:
Advertising
- As an affiliate club, your club will receive free advertising
for your club and events!CKC will create and send informational flyers
announcing your club’s sanctioned events and fundraisers.CKC will also provide
your Affiliate Club the service of a FREE web page on our website which receives
over 60,000 hits per month!To top things off, you will also receive an
advertisement in our CKC quarterly magazine.
Registration Services and Record Keeping
- CKC provides record keeping of club members and
CKC-sanctioned events.CKC will maintain a complete roster of all club members of
your affiliate club and will not charge an individual membership fee for each
one of your club members (the affiliate club may, at their own discretion,
charge an individual membership fee for each affiliate club
member to help
cover any additional costs of getting your club going). As usual, CKC offers
registration services for ALL canines participating in Continental Kennel Club-
sanctioned events.
Judges Program and Training Seminars
- CKC will provide training seminars and approval of judges.
The training and educational seminars help in getting your Event Staff, Judges,
members and other affiliate club officials started on the right path.
Sanctioned Events & Fun Events
- CKC will officially sanction up to 4 individual events of
each year. CKC will advise and assist in fundraisers and affiliate club training
sessions when schedules are non-conflicting.
Instructor Development
Regardless of the discipline, CKC has qualified instructors ready to train
club members to instruct your club. Because we have our own Training Center, we
can offer these courses on a regular basic. Our facility not only has state of
the art visual aids, but has an on-site kennel and 3 training fields! Clubs can
check with their field representatives or visit us on the web for more
information about upcoming courses.
Affiliate Club Fees and expenses
- The Affiliate Club will be required to pay an annual fee to maintain
affiliation with Continental Kennel Club for the purpose of sponsoring CKC
events. Contracts must be renewed annually, in advance, and in writing, by a CKC
Affiliate Club official; The annual fee is $100 for the initial year, $50 for
each renewal.
- The CKC Affiliate Club is also required to purchase and present Continental
Kennel Club with proof of liability insurance which covers its operations at all
events, training sessions and other venues where the club may participate in
CKC-sanctioned events. Continental Kennel Club must be listed as an “additional
insured” on all CKC Affiliate Club policies;
Terms and Conditions
- The CKC Affiliate Club agrees to hold at least 1 event its first year of
operation and at least 2 events per year thereafter. The CKC Affiliate club may
apply for as many as 4 events per year in any one calendar year. Special events
such as regional or national events may not count against the club’s total;
- The CKC Affiliate Club agrees to collect an entry fee for each canine
participating in each event type according to CKC’s current fee schedule for
events;
- The CKC Affiliate Club agrees to provide at least 3 training sessions per
month for each specific event type it sponsors.
- The CKC Affiliate Club agrees to nominate and recommend members to
Continental Kennel Club as potential judges, instructors, scorekeepers, and
other personnel to be certified by Continental Kennel Club;
- The CKC Affiliate Club will be responsible for securing CKC Certified Judges
for each event type sponsored at a CKC-sanctioned event. Continental Kennel Club
will assist in locating CKC Certified Judges if none are readily available to
the CKC Affiliate Club;
- The CKC Affiliate Club agrees to maintain equipment supplied by Continental
Kennel Club to use for training and event purposes according to standard safe
principles of use and agrees to return any equipment belonging to Continental
Kennel Club upon request;
- The CKC Affiliate Club agrees to promote Continental Kennel Club, and CKC’s
major sponsors, at all CKC-sanctioned events, Fund Raisers, Demonstrations,
Seminars, Training Sessions and anything else affiliated with Continental Kennel
Club events;
- The CKC Affiliate Club agrees to enforce and follow all Continental Kennel
Club registrations and performance event rules and regulations at CKC
affiliated/sanctioned events, Fund Raisers, Demonstrations, Seminars, Training
Sessions and anything else affiliated with Continental Kennel Club events;
- The CKC Affiliate Club agrees to use CKC trademarks, logos, copyrights and
other proprietary information only with permission from CKC.
- Other events may not be held in conjunction with, conflict or compete with
CKC events without prior written consent from CKC board of directors.
Additionally, events sanctioned by other organizations may not be advertised at
CKC events .
