It was early Saturday morning when things got rolling at Wildrose Kennels in Oxford, MS. There were people gathered from over five states that came for the new field working retriever plantation style training. Everyone gathered inside and were eagerly greeted by our instructors Roy Roncini, Nigel Carville, and Mike Stewart. We all listened, had discussions as the rules were discussed. After lunch everyone grabbed their dogs and headed for the fields. It was time to give it a go. So off we went guided by our instructors. Working in teams of two shots were fired and dummies were thrown. The dogs ready to work sat patiently waiting for the signal from their handlers to be sent. The amazing dogs worked throughout the day in high grasslands, flatlands, and woodlands. Doing Walk-up's, Drivens, and Wooded-light cover. The instructors along with handlers and dogs worked hard all afternoon but, working together made it a great day.
