OhKentuckiana's 2nd Annual Spring Challenge began with a beautiful spring day in a field of white clover as several junior handlers, adults and their canines accepted the challenge of competing in tracking/article search. Junior handler, Allison Gibson, was awarded a Level 1 for handling Thunder, a chocolate Labrador, through Junior Handler Advanced. Jordan Bramblett, another junior, handled her malti-poo, Mandy, through the Junior Handler Novice levels 1 and 2. The junior handlers went on to show their talents as trainers in obedience and agility competition. Later that day, Monte Perdido, a Great Pyranees, strutted his way to Best in Show. Saturday night brought the "big dogs" out to play, with Zoose winning Most Weight Pulled Overall and Kane coming in second as well as winning Most Weight Pound for Pound.
Another beautiful day dawned on Sunday and brought the retrievers into the picture. Congratulations to Junior for obtaining Novice Retriever level 1, Goose received Novice Retriever level 2, and Blue, the lady of the group, attained Novice Retriever Levels 1 and 2. Following the retrievers, we witnessed several incredible dogs and handlers successfully compete in Obedience and Agility.
