Peach State Performance Dogs held their Fall Fiesta in Milner, GA this weekend and it was a blast. On Saturday morning, after getting the field set up, we began the novice levels of obedience and agility. Congratulations to all of the competitors who passed. Before lunch, there were a few dogs who competed in the novice personal protection event. What a rush to see these well trained dogs go after the decoy! After lunch, people and dogs began showing up to register for the weight pull. After all the dogs were weighed in, it was time to venture down to the weight pull track to see some big weight being pulled by these strong dogs. Unfortunately, the passing clouds decided to drop some heavy rain on us while the competition continued. Talk about dedication! Although I, and everyone else, was soaked, the weight pull went on, and seemed to overshadow the late summer shower. Congratulations to "Lexus" for pulling the most weight pound for pound, and to "Fooko" for pulling the most weight overall. Sunday morning brought the dogs back to compete in the upper levels of obedience and agility. Although the dogs were outstanding, some tough judging calls for the dogs to compete again at the next event. Better luck next time. After lunch, a conformation fun match was held. Congratulations to "Chancellor", a Doberman Pincher, for winning Best in Show. Overall, it was a fun weekend. I always enjoy going to the events held by this club in Georgia. Thanks to everyone that helped out, participated, and competed at the event. Thanks to our sponsors and to JaMA Kennels for the use of their facility. We'll see ya again at the Christmas Classic in December!
